Background

Access News Australia is a media agency producing and distributing a range of publications. Some of the publications they produce include; Central Coast Business Access, Western Sydney Business Access, Horizons, to name a few. They also are active in creating online media through their accessnews.tv website.

Access News Australia engaged with PSD Brand Design to help to lift their publications profiles with a new identity that was more reflective of the publication’s purpose and content.

Approach

PSD Brand Design engaged with Access Publications through a discovery session to fully understand the suite of publications and the strategy for each.

The Access group of publications was designed as an area focused publication concentration on business, lifestyle and community news. The previous brand was very much focused on the business market and a fresh look to encapsulate the new direction was needed.

PSD Brand Design was engaged to create a flexible brand that could be utilised seamlessly throughout a range of communication channels both online and offline. The masthead was designed and a visual logo was adapted from the masthead designed to be utilised as a logo for social media, and other advertising. The most crucial piece of the puzzle was designing a masthead that could be specific to geographic areas as well as work as an identity for the brand.
